1 What’s the difference between anxiety attacks and panic attacks

Panic is where people unexpectedly experience moments of intense anxiety along with physical symptoms. Sometimes there can be a sense of dread that something really bad is going to happen, like feeling that you’re about to die. This is quite different to anxiety, where you might be anxious about, say, your bank balance, or something to do with your work, and different again to generalised anxiety disorder, where you tend to worry about a whole range of life events.

As well as unexpectedly experiencing a sudden increase in intense anxiety, you will often feel some physical symptoms that make you feel like you’re losing control. These can be like your heart pounding, and feeling out of breath or sick, sometimes numbness and tingling. These physical signs of anxiety and panic can be extremely alarming.

2 What are some home treatments for anxiety and panic attacks

There are treatments for anxiety and panic that do not involve you in taking Antidepressants or undergoing hypnosis, in one form or another to treat anxiety and panic attacks. For further information you can go to

3 How do I know if I need medication for anxiety and panic attacks

If you experience any feelings that make you worry unduly about doing something or going somewhere new, then an appointment with your GP will ascertain whether or not medication is required. If you are at all concerned about any possible side effects of taking such medication you can find alternative ways to deal with your feelings by clicking here .

4 Panic attacks symptoms, what is panic attack?

A panic attack is when your body experiences a rush of intense psychological (mental) and physical symptoms.

You may feel an intense sense of fear, apprehension, anxiety and panic

As well as these feelings, you may also have physical symptoms, like feeling sick, sweating, trembling and palpitations, (a sensation that your heart is beating irregularly)

A panic attack can be very frightening and intense, but it is not dangerous. It will not cause you any physical harm.

Take control .

It is important that your fear of anxiety and panic attacks does not take control of your life.

Confront your fear.

During an attack you may feel that something bad is going to happen, you are going to faint or lose control, or even that you going to die. You should try to tell yourself that none of these things are going to happen.

Relaxation

Knowing how to relax can be a way to help prevent anxiety and panic attacks occurring, and knowing how to relax during an attack can help you to deal with it.

Breathing Techniques

Your brain requires the right amounts of oxygen and carbon dioxide for clear thinking.

Our breathing is automatic and is based on past habits. Most of us develop bad breathing habits that result in an overall reduction in our good health. Altering your breathing alters your mental, physical and emotional state, e.g. sitting quietly and allowing your breathing to become slower and shallower can produce a calmer state within a very short time.

So being able to change your breathing, when experiencing anxiety and panic attacks, from ‘automatic’ control to ‘manual’ control puts you more in charge of your emotions, and the general rule is that deep breathing results in a more agitated state, and that shallow breathing in a calmer state of mind .Read morein Joe Barry’s 148 page e book called Panic Away

Every winter, in particular during December, January and February, sometimes even as early as September and through to April, around 7% of the UK population and 6.1% in USA, are affected by SAD, whereas in some Nordic countries like Scandinavia and Iceland the occurrence is unexpectedly low.

This is caused by a chemical imbalance in the hypothalamus due to the lack of sunlight in winter and the shortening of daylight hours and is repeated year after year.

For many people this can be a seriously disabling illness, that prevents them from functioning normally without ongoing medical treatment. For others, it is a less severe but still debilitating condition causing discomfort and suffering, this is what is known as Subsyndromal SAD or ‘winter blues.’ It is thought that another 17% of the UK population have this milder condition.

Symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder may consist of: tendency to oversleep, difficulty waking up in the morning, to overreaction, a craving for carbohydrates leading to weight gain, a lack of energy, difficulty with concentrating and completing tasks and a loss of interest in friends, family and social contacts.

To sum up, symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder can be some or all of the following:

    * Depression

    * Sleep Problems

    * Lethargy

    * Over Eating

    * Loss of Concentration

    * Social Problems

    * Anxiety

    * Loss of Libido

    * Mood Changes

All of this leads to the depression, and lack of pleasure which characterize a person suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder.

There have been various causes proposed for the occurrence of Seasonal Affective Disorder. One possibility is that Seasonal Affective Disorder is related to a lack of serotonin, another theory is that the cause may be related to melatonin which is produced in dim light and darkness by the pineal gland.

This gland produces the melatonin hormone in small quantities and then releases it into the blood stream. The release is triggered by periods of darkness or reduced sunshine. If higher than normal levels of melatonin are being released into the blood stream, then the amount of good quality sleep can be affected.

The ‘winter blues’ experienced by both Seasonal Affective Disorder and Subsyndromal Seasonal Affective Disorder sufferers can usually be lessened or extinguished by increased outdoor activity, particularly on sunny days, resulting in increased exposure to sun light. There are well documented connections between human moods and energy levels and the different seasons, even in healthy individuals. It has been suggested that Seasonal Affective Disorder is a remnant of a hibernation response in some remote ancestor and if this interpretation is correct, Seasonal Affective Disorder would not be a dysfunction or disorder, as most psychiatrists assume, but a normal and expected response to the seasonal changes. Women tend to be more likely to be affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder than men.

Most sufferers experience some kind of major depressive disorder, but as many as 20% may go on to develop a manic-depressive disorder such as bipolar disorder.

It is very important to discriminate between the change in mood associated with recovery from the winter depression and a manic episode because there are important differences in the treatments.

Treatments

There are several different treatments for the classic seasonal affective disorder, including bright light therapy, medication, Negative air ionization and cognitive-behavioural therapy, a psychotherapeutic approach.

Bright light therapy has been shown to be effective in up to 85 per cent of diagnosed cases and usually involves the use of a light-box.

Ordinary light bulbs and fittings are not suitable. The average domestic or office lighting usually emits an intensity of 200-500 lux, as opposed to the minimum dose necessary to treat SAD, of 2500 lux, The intensity of a bright summer day can be as much as 100,000 lux.

Check Amazon for some suitable bright light source options.

Bright light treatment should be used every day throughout winter and even during prolonged dull periods in summer time. This normally means starting in early autumn or when the first symptoms appear and it means sitting two to three feet away from a light box, which would usually be on a table and allowing the light to shine directly into the eyes.

Normal activity such as reading, working, eating and knitting while stationary in front of the box, can be carried out, as it is not necessary to stare directly at the light.

Treatment usually takes effect within the first three or four days and then continues, provided it is used daily. Tinted lenses, should not be worn or any other device that blocks the light to the retina of the eye.

Some light boxes can emit higher intensity of light, some as high as 10,000 lux , which can reduce the treatment time needed to half an hour a day.

Light boxes have to be bought from specialist retailers, they are not available on the NHS, but they are free of VAT when used for medical purposes.

Negative air ionization, involves releasing charged particles into the air of the sleep environment and has been found effective with as much as a 47.9% improvement when the negative ions are of sufficient density.

There are various medications useful in the treatment of SAD, which one is used depends on each individual case and their specific needs. Psychotherapy, counselling or any complementary therapy that helps the sufferer to relax, accept their illness and to cope with its limitations are extremely useful.

Living here on the “Wet Coast” predisposes many of us to seasonal depression, otherwise known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). This is a very common form of depression

                                                             What Is Clinical Depression?

Things we tend to think of separately, like post partum depression or seasonal affective disorder (SAD), are actually sub-categories of major depressive disorder. One of the distinguishing features of all the categories is that the pervasive low mood lasts for at least two weeks or even longer, and the patient experiences at least five of the typical clinical depression symptoms.

Signs and symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD)

The most important aspect of signs and symptoms of seasonal affective disorder are in their cyclic occurrence, appearing in autumn, lasting through winter and disappearing in spring. Mild depression start with the start of autumn.

The cold weather tends to increase the incidence of Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD. A person suffering form SAD would be more inclined to sleeping more, less energetic and have a craving for carbs. This leads to weight gain.

Bipolar Disorder Depression, Information and Support for Sufferers, not a Substitute for Treatment

We all have our good days and our bad days, our "up" days and our "down" days but for anyone suffering from bipolar disorder depression, these offs and ons are more serious. The symptoms of bipolar disorder depression can hurt your job and schoolwork performance, spoil your relationships and upset your daily life. Although this disorder is treatable, most people do not recognize the warning signs and therefore do not get the bipolar disorder treatment they really need. As bi polar disorder tends to degenerate without treatment, it’s important to know what the symptoms are like. Recognizing bipolar disorder depression is the first step towards getting it under control.

Bi polar disorder, sometimes known as manic depression, causes serious changes in moods, vitality, and other behaviour going from the heights of mania on one level, to the depths of depression on the other. More than just a momentary good or bad mood, the bi polar disorder cycle last for days, weeks, or even for months and unlike normal mood swings, the mood changes of bi polar disorder are so intense that they affect your ability to function.

During one of their manic episodes, a person might quite easily quit a job, go on a spending spree, charging huge amounts on credit cards, or feel completely refreshed after only sleeping two hours. During a depressive period, the same person might feel too tired to get out of bed and be full of self-loathing and feel utterly hopeless over being out of a job and deeply in debt.

The causes of bipolar disorder depression are not fully understood, but it may sometimes run in families. The first occurrence of bipolar disorder depression is usually in the teenage years or in the early years of adulthood. The symptoms of bipolar can be confusing and easily missed which is why so many people with bipolar disorder depression are misdiagnosed and overlooked resulting in unnecessary suffering but had they been given proper bipolar disorder treatment and support, they could lead a rich and fulfilling life.

Facts And Fiction About Bi-polar Disorder

Fiction: People with bi-polar disorder can’t get better and go on to lead a normal life.

Fact:A lot of the people with bi-polar disorder have successful careers, lead happy lives, and enjoy satisfying relationships.

Living with bi-polar disorder is a big challenge but with proper bipolar disorder treatment and a solid support system, it is possible to live a full life while managing the symptoms.

Fiction: Those people who suffer with bipolar disorder depression go back and forth between highs and lows.

Fact: Some may alternate between extreme periods of mania and depression but more often than not they are depressed more than they are manic. The mania may even be so slight that it can go unrecognised. For some people with bi polar disorder there can be long stretches when they are without any symptoms.

Fiction: Bipolar disorder only affects ones mood.

Fact: Bipolar disorder can affect energy levels, judgement making, memory recall, awareness, eating, sleeping rhythms, sexual appetite and self-esteem. Additionally, bipolar disorder depression has been linked to anxiety attacks, solvent/substance abuse, as well as health problems like diabetes, heart disease, severe headaches and high blood pressure.

Fiction: Apart from taking medication, nothing you can be done to control bi-polar disorder.

Fact: While taking medication makes up the bulk of bipolar disorder treatment, therapy and self-motivating strategies will also play an important part in the overall treatment. By exercising regularly you can help control your symptoms, getting a good nights sleep, healthy diet, monitoring your moods, minimise stress levels, and having supportive people around.

Signs and symptoms of bipolar disorder mood episodes

Bipolar disorder depression symptoms can be very different in different people. The symptoms of bipolar vary widely in their pattern, severity, and frequency. Some people are more prone to mania and some are more prone to depression, while others switch equally between the two types. Some may have regular mood changes, while others may experience a few over a lifetime.

There are four types of moods experienced in bipolar disorder depression:- mania, hypomania, depression and then there are mixed episodes. Each has a unique set of symptoms.

Signs and symptoms of mania

In the manic phase feelings of high energy, creativity, and euphoria are common. During a manic episode people often talk a mile a minute, are hyperactive, and sleep very little. They often feel like they’re invincible and destined to do great things.

While mania may feel good at first, it usually ends up spiralling out of control. People behave recklessly during a manic episode, doing things like, gambling away savings, engaging in abnormal sexual activities, or making disastrous business decisions. They can also become angry and aggressive, picking fights or lashing out when other people don’t agree with their decisions. They can blame everyone for being against them when their behaviour is criticized. They may even become delusional or start hearing things.

Some common signs and symptoms of mania include:

Unusually “high” feeling and optimism or being extremely irritable
Unrealistic, beliefs about one’s own abilities or powers
Having very little sleep, but still feeling extremely energetic
Talking so rapidly that others can’t understand what you are saying
Racing thoughts; switching quickly from one idea to the next
Easily distracted and unable to concentrate
Making bad judgements and being impulsive
Acting without thinking about the consequences or dangers involved
Delusions and hallucinations (in the most severe cases)

Hypomania symptoms

Hypomania is a lesser form of mania. When in a hypomanic state they feel on top of the world, full of energy and prolific but they are still able to carry on with their normal day-to-day lives and they never quite lose touch with reality. Other people may think that people with hypomania are just in a very good mood but hypomania can result in making bad decisions and can harm relationships, work and reputations. In addition, a period of hypomania often turns into full-blown mania or it is followed by major depression.

Signs and symptoms of bipolar disorder depression.

Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity. There are also strong arguments for seeing depression as an adaptive defence mechanism. A low or depressed mood can increase an individual’s ability to cope with situations in which the effort to pursue a major goal could result in danger. In such situations, low motivation may give an advantage by inhibiting certain actions. It is normally accepted that a depressed person can be defined as experiencing feelings of sadness, helplessness and hopelessness.
However a growing body of research suggests that there are significant differences between bipolar depression and regular depression, especially when it comes to their recommended treatments. Most people with bipolar depression do not respond well to antidepressants. In fact, there is a risk that bipolar disorder can be made worse by antidepressants, by triggering mania or hypomania and causing rapid swings between moods or by interfering with other stabilizing drugs.

Signs and symptoms of a mixed episode

A mixed episode of bi polar disorder features symptoms of both manic or hypomanic episodes and depression. Common signs are depression combined with agitation, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, easily distracted and racing thoughts. This combination of heightened energy level and depressive mood makes for a particularly high risk of suicide.

Signs and symptoms of bipolar depression

Despite having many similar symptoms, some symptoms are more common in bipolar depression than in normal depression, eg. bipolar depression will more than likely involve signs of irritability, guilt, as well as unpredictable mood swings, and feelings of restlessness. There is also a tendency for people with bipolar depression to move and speak slowly, they would sleep a lot and put on weight. They may even develop a psychotic depression in which they lose contact with reality and find it hard to function well at work and in social contacts.

Common symptoms of bipolar depression include:

Hopelessness, sadness, or feeling empty.
Feeling irritable
Unable to experience pleasure
Tired or lacking energy
Drained both physically and mentally
Loss of appetite
Fluctuating weight
Poor sleep
Unable to concentrate
Poor memory
Feeling guilty and worthless
Thoughts of dying and suicide

The different faces of bipolar disorder

Bipolar I Disorder (mania or a mixed episode)
The classic manic-depressive form, consisting of at least one manic episode or mixed episode and sometimes Bipolar I Disorder has at least one attack of depression.

Bipolar II Disorder (hypomania and depression)
Bipolar II disorder doesn’t involve full-blown manic episodes, instead, it involves episodes of hypomania and deep depression.

Cyclothymia (hypomania and mild depression)
Cyclothymia is a less severe form of bipolar disorder. Usually it involves cycles of mood swings, with less severe symptoms than full-blown mania or depression.

At the first signs of bipolar depression in yourself or someone else, get help at once. Pretending it’s not happening won’t make it go away; in fact, it will almost certainly make things worse. Leaving it untreated can lead to problems in everything part of your life, your career, your relationships, and your health. Early diagnosis and getting treatment can help prevent these complications.

If you put off getting treatment because you like the feeling you get when you’re having a manic episode, just remember that these feelings of being energetic and the euphoria have a high price to pay, as they can and often do, turn destructive, hurting yourself and the people you care about the most.

Basics of bipolar disorder treatment.

Bipolar disorder needs long-term and continuous treatment. Since it is a chronic, recurring illness, it is vitally important to continue the treatment although you may be feeling better. In most cases people with bipolar disorder will need medication to stave off new episodes and stay symptom-free.

Medication alone for bipolar disorder depression is usually not enough to fully control the symptoms. The most effective treatments involves a combination of medication, therapy, changes of life style, with family and social support.
Diagnosis can be tricky and treatment is often difficult, therefore it’s best to work with an experienced psychiatrist. For safety reasons, medication should be closely monitored, and a psychiatrist who is skilled in treatment of bipolar disorder can help you get through the difficult times.

Learn more about treatments available to you at Amazon

The aim of treatment for bipolar disorder is about more than just the relief of symptoms. It is about getting to the point where it no longer disrupts your life. With the right treatments you can reach this goal.
It isn’t easy, dealing with bipolar disorder depression but it doesn’t have to control your life and in order to successfully deal with bipolar disorder, smart choices have to be made. Your daily routine has a significant impact on your moods.
Learn everything you can about bipolar disorder. The more you know, the better you’ll understand how, by persevering with the treatment, you are assisting your own recovery.

Avoid high stressful situations, balance your working time and social life, try some relaxation such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing.
It is important to have friends and family you can turn to for help and encouragement. Try joining a support group.
By having healthy sleeping, eating, and exercising routines you can help to stabilize your moods. Having and keeping a regular sleep routine is particularly important.
Take note of your symptoms and in particular, watch out for any signs that your moods are getting out of control so you can deal with the problem before it begins. Therefore helping yourself and your loved ones to live with and cope with bipolardisorder depression.

Bipolar disorder and suicide

Bipolar disorder depression is often very severe and one of the major risk factors is suicide. In fact, some people suffering from bipolar disorder depression are more than likely to attempt suicide than those suffering from normal depression.
The more frequent the episodes of bipolar disorder depression, and mixed episodes of depression are occurring, the higher the risk of suicide is. A family history of suicide, a history of alcohol or drug abuse, or the early stages of the disease can also heighten the risk of suicide.
,
Possible warning signs of suicide include:

Talk of death, self-harming, or suicide
Feelings of hopelessness or helplessness
Feeling useless and incapable
Taking unnecessary risks
Acting as if going away and not returning, by getting affairs in order
Abnormal interest in weapons and harmful medications

It is important that any talk of suicide is taken seriously.
If you have good reason to think that someone is suicidal, always get professional help.

Thoughts of a fellow sufferer:-

If you’ve been trying to stop your overwhelming anxiety for any length of time, you’re probably already familiar with some of the more common strategies and natural remedies. Breathing techniques, mental exercises and finding physical outlets for stress are just a few. Granted, these natural remedies tactics work pretty well, if you want to speed up the process, the following 5 natural herbs for anxiety are sure to do the trick.
Herbs can still be very dangerous if taken incorrectly. Follow the directions on the bottle or consult a herbalist. It is important to make sure the herbs you are taking don’t have stimulant properties. If they do, they can make the anxiety attacks worse.
Herbs can be a great in anxiety treatment . They offer you natural remedies to take control of your health. I have to say that prior to trying out the herbs listed below, I was pretty dubious about the results. I’ve never thought of myself as the holistic, hippie type. I had some doubts about going down the route of natural remedies and herbs to deal with my anxiety. What finally made my mind up was a simple yet very effective remedy to night time panic that gave amazing results.
I had a LOT of trouble getting to sleep at night. My mind would be in turmoil and it seemed impossible to get to sleep with the unstoppable, thoughts still rolling around in my head. A good friend told me to try tea with Valerian, by Celestial Seasons.
I figured I’d give it a go, so I picked up a box of the tea from my local stockists and quickly found that drinking it before bed was a great way to lull my body into a calm state.
The Valerian root in the tea decreased my anxiety like nothing I had ever tried before.
I thought that I would do a little research about the herb and discovered that it has mild tranquillizing properties. Obviously it’s not the kind of thing you should be taking before operating heavy machinery or driving, but Valerian root proved to be a great, gentle solution for my night time anxiety, and I decided to do some more research into natural remedies.

Helpful aStore for Anxiety and Panic relief

I wasn’t looking for anything that acted like a heavy drug;just the opposite. I was hoping to find natural remedies that I could work into my daily diet that would give me a nice, gentle way to take the edge off daily stress.
After a little trial and error, I settled on the Five effective herbs listed below.
As always, talk to your doctor or herbalist before using any of these herbs on a regular basis.

St. John’s Wort , Extracts of this popular herb give an antidepressant effect. Dosage may vary. Some recommend a dosage of three grams of powder per day. Results can be felt after a week or so. That said, you can buy the supplement pills at your local health store, and this herb becomes a convenient way to ward off the blues.

Meadow Sweet, Relieves headaches related to anxiety and stress.

There are a couple of warnings for you here.
People with sensitivity to aspirin should avoid Meadow Sweet.
It should never be used for headaches or to lower fevers in children as it may possibly lead to Reye’s syndrome.

Kava Kava, Studies show that Kava Kava has the unique ability to provide a calming effect while increasing mental sharpness. . Kava’s more general mode of action probably explains why it has a wide variety of effects on the body.
Kava Kava is one of the most popular choices for the treatment of anxiety and insomnia. It is a powerful herb that comes from the South Seas. Sometimes used as an alternative to Valium, research studies have found it reduces anxiety equally as good, and it has the advantage that there are no addictive side effects with the Kava Kava.
You must bear in mind, Kava Kava WILL knock you out. It acts as a sedative so don’t take it if you operate machinery or are driving and need to stay alert. This is a more powerful alternative if Valerian root isn’t working for your nocturnal anxiety effectively enough.

Ginkgo Biloba, Used to improve circulation to the brain, Ginkgo Biloba elevates mood and is often used as a natural antidepressant. Side effects are minimal, but talk to your doctor if you decide to go this route. Ginkgo Biloba has been linked with bleeding disorders so you should do your homework before giving it a try.

Passion Flower, Acts as a non-drowsy, natural sedative that relieves nervousness, anxiety and panic attacks.

Talk to you doctor about adding any of these natural herbs to your diet. Valerian Root and St. Johns Wort seem to be the most beneficial for anxiety traits. Results may vary from person to person.
Remember, if you are adding these supplements to your daily routine you also want to be using anxiety fighting tactics. Using strategies that reduce panic, stress and anxiety is the best way to get over your debilitating condition.

                                                             Alternative Remedies for Stress

Having an anxiety panic issue can really interfere with your life so much that you feel hard done by and isolated, while others seem to be flying high and getting on with things .
I have sat in group therapy where people have endlessly complained about their problems and I can understand why, but could this be a blessing in disguise?, what could the benefits be to having such a problem and then curing it ?

Here’s a few ideas!

1)In order to cure your anxiety you need to be aware of it, and invariably as you become more aware of your own actions and feelings you will develop and grow as a person. Even if what you are aware of is fear and pain you are still growing, as a person, more than a lot of other people, who spend their lives unaware of their feelings. Ultimately they miss out on a lot more.
2) As you open up more to your emotions and start to acknowledge the anxiety you will also appear more open and accepting to other people, and your relationships will start to get better and your interactions will be easier..
3)I believe as people cure their own anxiety they then start to get in touch with their lifes purpose. This happens because they are opening up to feelings on a level which will eventually lead to a connection with a source of the strength within themselves which guides them to their purpose in life.

4)Remember that everything in life no matter how upsetting has a purpose and has lessons for you to learn. Curing your anxiety will point you towards your own lesson and it will therefore enrich your life.

Here Are Some Panic Attack Treatments
Jon Mercer’s Easy Calm How Many Common Anxiety & Panic Attack Symptoms Do You Have?

Joe Barry’s Panic Away Immediate Anxiety Relief A Natural Technique To Stop Panic Attacks and General Anxiety Fast!

Charles Linden’s The Linden Method In the Next 5 Minutes You Will KNOW How To Cure Your Anxiety, Panic Attacks, OCD or Agoraphobia… PERMANENTLY!

Finding a suitable anxiety panic attack treatment needs some homework to be done. The fact that anxiety panic attacks occur for different reasons and therefore affect different people different ways is important to remember. It means that there is no one panic attack treatment that is the right treatment for everybody out there to follow.
Making time to identify what could be causing your painic attacks is a great place to start. Some people are afraid of counseling but you shouldn’t be, as this can be the perfect way to help you identify what some of the underlying triggers of your anxiety panic attacks are. It is then that the right course of panic attack treatment can be determined for you. There are various types of breathing techniques and behaviours that you can follow that will help to reduce your anxiety.
Some people experience a great deal of anxiety panic before certain events, such as being tested. By learning how to study properly for them, it can help a person to have less anxiety when it comes to taking the test. Some people have a lot of stress in their workplace so changing their job may be the best answer for them. These panic attack treatments are so easy to implement once you have been able to pinpoint where your anxieties are coming from.
There are several types of medication that can be prescribed by medical professionals for panic attacks, and seems to be quite successful for a lot of people, but it can sometimes take quite awhile to find the right medication, and the correct dosage that is needed to be taken daily. A combination using both prescribed medication and professional counseling is often a preferred form of panic attack treatment.
Normally, a complete physical and mental evaluation and assessment will be done during counseling. In that way any other underlying medical concerns can be ruled out. It is very important that all questions are answered as honestly as possible, so that the right panic attack treatment can be given to you. The various options should be carefully and fully explained to you so that you can make your choice of what you wish to try. Parents should be deciding this for their children.
There are some natural remedies you can try for your panic attack treatment. Some people prefer these to using prescription medications. There is plenty of information about such methods online, or you can seek advice from your local herbalist. You can then feel free to try them out to see how they work for you. No matter which form of panic attack treatment you choose, you should try to stay positive until you find the one that works best for you.

Elevated anxiety and panic attacks happen to a broad spectrum of people but, even so, there are some specific things you can do that will help most of them.

Effective Ways Of Managing Anxiety

Have you ever had a situation that brought on the sweats, rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath? No you probably weren’t having a heart attack but an anxiety panic attack. If you suffer from any anxiety disorders, learning how to control it is the first step to overcoming it.

The Linden Method

Anxiety is defined as extreme reactions to fearful situations. When you are followed into a dark alley, those panicky feelings of a rapid heartbeat and sweaty palms gives way to heightened senses and then a rush of adrenalin that can save your life. This is the fight or flight syndrome.

In the case of repeated anxiety, the panic feelings are dread of a particular situation and not the situation itself. For example, getting caught in traffic can cause an anxiety attack, not over getting caught up in a traffic jam, but over what might happen when you get to work late. Starting a new job can often bring about an anxiety attack. You probably don’t know anyone that works there and the fear of that unknown can send you into a panic.

Everyone, at sometime or another, experiences panic or anxiety attacks in small ways. Like the fight or flight for example, it can save your life. In new situations, we get anxious but when the outcome we fear fails to happen, then the panic stops, except for someone with chronic anxiety, then this is not the case.

Every experience that brings on anxiety is not a life-threatening one. More often than not it is the extremely stressful situation that has caused the anxiety as a way of dealing with it. Unchecked anxiety like this can lead to depression.

If you suffer from anxiety attacks only on certain occasions or you have a more frequent anxiety disorder, there are steps you can take to keep these anxieties under control .

1. See a professional. This is always the first step to take. Self-diagnosis of any condition, whether physical or mental is unwise and could be dangerous. A psychologist can help you understand your anxieties and can prescribe medication or other effective treatments.

2. Make sure you get a good night’s sleep. During the sleep cycle, your body repairs itself. You feel more relaxed after several hours of restorative sleep, reaching the REM stage. Most people need eight hours a night but this can vary within an hour or two either way.

3. Exercising on a regular basis. Exercise helps you to absorb oxygen more efficiently, which,in turn helps to get more oxygen to the brain. It also increases your focus which can help you see the solutions to problems rather than simply just worrying about them.

4. Meditation, this is more than just chanting mantras. Yoga is an exercise that involves clearing your mind and controlling your breathing. Even simple mediation such as taking 5 minutes to clear your mind everyday can work wonders in the fight against anxiety.

5. Take control of the worry. When your pulse start to quicken, count backwards from ten. As you count, focus on what has actually happened, and resist the urge to read anything more into the situation than there really is.

6. Don’t drink alcohol. You might think that the glass of wine is a good way of relaxing your tension but alcohol is a depressant. In anxious situations if you rely too heavily on it you could create another problem in the process.

7. Find something to do that is relaxing, as stress can rob you of your energy. Regularly , do something you like doing such as gardening, painting, reading or just listen to some music.

It’s normal for anxiety to come into your life at any time.. Only when the anxiety becomes a frequent occurrence could you be at risk of a much more serious conditions. If ever your anxiety starts to take over your life or it is increasingly causing you problems, you must seek professional help immediately. There is no need to suffer this terrible condition in silence. Click Here

Anxiety Attacks and Panic Attacks

Anxiety and Panic Attacks During Pregnancy

A lot of women find that they are dealing with anxiety attacks and panic attacks during their pregnancy. A lot of of these had never had an attack before getting pregnant. There is good reason for this to happen.
Some specialists believe that anxiety attacks and panic attacks are caused by a medicinal imbalance and prescribe drugs for the condition. Joe Barry, who has spent many years studying the problem and is convinced that the cure lies within the sufferer. Joe has published a 148 page e-book called “ Panic Away ”in which he explains his 3 stage program that can help sufferers to discover the underlying causes of their anxiety attacks and overcome their fears.
Panic Away will present you with a technique that you can use to break the cycle of anxiety attacks that you have fallen into so you can return to your calm and soothing everyday lifestyle.
Yes, Panic Away is perfectly safe for both the baby and mother during pregnancy. It teaches you to move away from fear into a feeling of trust that you are safe. It is the fear of the fear that creates the wave like cycle of anxiety attacks and panic attacks.Once that cycle is broken it is only a short matter of time before the general anxiety levels drop and you return to normal.
The course teaches you to deal with both the general anxiety and the specific cases as they arise in the form of anxiety attacks. The course is divided into 3 stages.
Stage 1 deals with the panic attacks and many people get instant results using the One Move technique.
Stage 2 tackles the general anxiety or G.A.D. (General Anxiety Disorder) and that generally takes a couple of weeks to bring the level of stress you are feeling back down to a more normal level.
Stage 3 is about sealing your recovery.
Remember Panic Away comes with one to one coaching with Joe Barry to help you achieve your goals as well as a full money back guarantee should you wish to avail of it.
While pregnant, a woman’s hormones are in overdrive, which can sometimes trigger the anxiety and panic attacks to occur. Remember every part of the pregnant woman’s body is affected by the pregnancy. Pregnancy itself can also be very stressful for some women. This can lead to anxiety attacks especially if the pregnancy was not planned, the woman may feel very worried or panicked about what will happen.
Click here for the ultimate answer to panic attacks
Women can sometimes feel anxious over the actual birth process. They may be scared that they will not be able to cope once the baby is here. Pregnancy is a life-changing event. It is only natural for a woman to feel anxious, these feelings can sometimes turn into full-blown anxiety or panic attacks.
Anxiety and panic attacks are more usual in the later months of a pregnancy. It is known that some women actually find that if they had had attacks before their pregnancy that they lessen while during pregnancy. No one knows why this happens. Possibly it is due to the fluctuating hormones.
If you find you do have anxiety and panic attacks while pregnant there are a few things you can do to help stop them. Medications can sometimes be harmful to your developing baby. One of the following natural methods of treatment will be more suited for you.
* Relaxation- If ever you feel yourself getting stressed or anxious take time out to relax. Find somewhere quiet to lie down and just relax, don’t spend this time worrying or feeling anxious. Just let yourself think of something or somewhere quiet and peaceful.
* Therapy- if you cannot relax it can help if you have someone you can talk to about your feelings, someone you can trust. It is only natural to feel anxious or scared about becoming a new mother. It can also help to talk over your fears of motherhood with someone.
* Deep breathing- using deep breathing methods can help you to let stress and anxiety you may be feeling to go away. Lie down and take deep breaths through your nose. Blow them out through your mouth. Do this until you feel the attack subsiding.
It is extremely important that you should seek help if you find you are having anxiety and panic attacks during your pregnancy. With the proper help and guidance, you will be able to control your anxiety and stress. This is very important for yours and your growing baby’s health.
Men can also have anxiety and panic attacks during your pregnancy. They are about to become a father and that can be scary for them. They may be worried how they will be able to cope financially or they may have worries about taking care of the baby.
Click here for my recommended answer to your panic attacks.
These worries can lead to excess anxiety, which can easily lead to anxiety or panic attacks. Men are often the last to admit when there is something really bothering them.
If you think your partner is more stressed than usual it might be a good idea to talk to them about it. Pregnancy should be a happy time. If you find yourself or your partner getting anxious, seek treatment.
